Wong, World Stage Racing Enjoy Quiet Run in Austin

AUSTIN, Texas (September 21)- Returning to the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America after a whirlwind month in which he’s competed in both NASCAR and Red Bull Global Rallycross competition, World Stage Racing’s Brian Wong would re-team with O’Gara Motorsport for the latest rounds at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Driving with team owner Tom O’Gara in the No. 69 Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2, the duo would take fifth and sixth in class during the week’s double-header.

“Certainly we would have liked to have seen the podium, but we had clean series of races which is a positive,” stated Wong. “Tom did a great job as always, and he drove a smart race to stay clean and out of major trouble, which went a long way in our race week. Everyone on the team did a great job getting the car prepared, and we should be pleased with our race.”

As a double-header event set at the famed Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, Wong would team with O’Gara Motorsport for the fourth event in succession, driving alongside Tom O’Gara in the ProAm category. With Tom O’Gara having never driven at the circuit prior, the duo knew that running a clean race would be of key importance, with Tom doing an excellent job during both rounds.

Brian Wong, World Stage Racing Impress in Red Bull Global Rallycross Debut

DSC 8859LOS ANGELES, Calif. (September 16, 2015)- With zero experience in the top-tier Supercar category of the Red Bull Global Rallycross (GRC) championship, World Stage Racing’s Brian Wong made a strong impression during this past weekend’s doubleheader event at the Port of Los Angeles.

“There is absolutely nothing like this series in the world,” stated Wong. “I hadn’t even sat in the car before Friday’s practice, so to be as competitive as we were and fight right to the end during both days, made for a great experience. The GRC product is incredible. They’ve managed to really bring in a new audience to motorsport, and the enthusiasm we saw from everyone in the stands was unlike anything I’ve seen. The series has clearly found a great demographic and audience. Everyone at Rhys Millen Racing did an excellent job preparing me, and the car was excellent. I can’t thank all of our partners from World Stage Racing enough: Super Street Network, GT Channel, Koomus, Wags and Walks and Nitty.”

Having not turned a wheel in his No. 89 Hyundai Veloster before Friday practice, Wong did an impressive job getting up to speed during the day’s practice and qualifying sessions. Coming off of a busy summer in which he’s driven in everything from the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series to the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series, the opportunity to jump in a small car designed to drive off road, over jumps, and through the tricky confines of the port of Los Angeles presented a unique challenge to the 26-year-old.

Brian Wong, World Stage Racing Enter Premier Category in Return to Global Rallycross Competition in Southern California Homecoming

rally2NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (September 11, 2015)- Returning to Southern California after a busy summer that has seen him race everything from a NASCAR Camping World Truck in Canada to a Lamborghini Huracán in Virginia, World Stage Racing’s Brian Wong will return to Red Bull Global Rallycross competition during this weekend’s eighth and ninth rounds in Los Angeles, California. With the event taking place at the famed Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro, this will serve as a homecoming of sorts for the 26-year-old who grew up just 40 miles south in Newport Beach. Adding to the excitement, Wong, who previously competed in the series’ second-tier Lites category, will return with Rhys Millen Racing only this time in one of the team’s Hyundai Veloster machines as he elevates to the premier Supercar category.

“It’s going to be a big jump seeing as I’ve only done one GRC race in the Lites category, but it should be a lot of fun,” stated Wong. “Coming from a NASCAR Truck on a road course straight to a Hyundai on the dirt will be a pretty big jump, but the guys at Rhys Millen Racing are excellent at preparing a great car and getting me as ready as I can be for it all. As always, World Stage Racing has been tremendously supportive and we have some excellent promotional partners this weekend in Super Street, Koomus, Nitty, GT Channel and Wags and Walks Dog Rescue. I couldn’t be more excited, hopefully we can show well.”

Continuing a long-term affiliation, Wong’s efforts will be supported by World Stage Racing, an Asian American-owned business that focuses on finding new ways to engage a digital audience in motorsport.

Brian Wong, World Stage Racing Survive Wild NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Debut

lat-lepage 150830-mos-3948BOWMANVILLE, Ontario, Canada (September 1, 2015) – Following a race that included everything from passing several machines to multiple moments of contact to a hard fight to the finish, World Stage Racing’s Brian Wong took an impressive 12th place finish in his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut during Sunday Chevrolet Silverado 250 at the famed Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

“This was definitely a crazy race,” stated Wong. “We basically experienced everything you could experience in one run. We went down a lap, fought to get it back, made contact with several people, and then it all came down to a green-white-checker. It was a lot of fun and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have had the chance. Everyone at Venturini Motorsports ran a great program, and I appreciate what everyone at World Stage Racing did to make this come together. Hopefully all of our partners had a great time, it was great having companies like Momofuku, GT Channel, Nitty and Purist on board.”

Starting from the 10th row in the No. 25 Momofuku / GT Channel / Nitty / Purist Toyota Tundra, Wong, who had never competed in the series before, knew that patience would be key during the opening laps of the sixty-two scheduled. Making a solid start, the 26-year-old held his own when the green flag fell keeping himself in line with the top twenty and trying to avoid major calamity during his opening stint.

Brian Wong to Debut in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series This Weekend

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (August 26, 2015)- Highlighting a busy summer of racing for the Californian, Brian Wong and World Stage Racing are pleased to announce their entry in to the next phase of the program’s development, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Partnering with the renowned Venturini Motorsports, the program will debut at this weekend’s Chevrolet Silverado 250 at the famed Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Canada. Continuing the team’s ethos of exploring new avenues for marketing and engagement, the team’s Toyota Tundra will also debut a new partnership with Momofuku.

“Words cannot express my excitement for this weekend,” stated Wong. “This is by far the most high profile event in my stock car career, and to say I’m looking forward to it would be an understatement. The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series offers some of the best racing in the world, and driving a vehicle like that at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, where you really have to be on your toes the whole time, should make for a very challenging weekend. Having Momofuku on board only makes it that much sweeter. Anyone who is familiar with their restaurants knows why it’s a huge honor to represent them this weekend. The quality of their dining experience, combined with their unique approach to customer engagement, lines up perfectly with our brand. Combined with our other partners at GT Channel, Purist and Nitty, we’re really hoping to show well for everyone.”

Continuing World Stage Racing’s tradition of engaging unique brands and non-traditional forms of partnership, the team’s alignment with Momofuku provides a perfect symbol of the effort. Established by chef and founder David Chang in 2004 with the opening of Momofuku Noodle Bar, Momofuku has grown to include restaurants in New York City, Sydney and Toronto. Momofuku has a total of nine restaurants (Noodle Bar, Ssäm Bar, Ko, Má Pêche, Seiōbo, Noodle Bar Toronto, Daishō, Shōtō, Fuku), a sister bakery with multiple locations throughout New York City and in Toronto (Milk Bar), two bars (Booker and Dax, Nikai), and a Culinary Lab.
