NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (June 25, 2015)-Following strong pace and demonstrable potential at the season-opening rounds of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America, World Stage Racing’s Brian Wong will return to this weekend’s doubleheader at the world famous Watkins Glen International.
“It’s great to be back in the series, the car is absolutely phenomenal to drive,” stated Wong. “At Laguna Seca we were just getting up to speed, but I learned a lot and feel all the better prepared headed into this weekend’s race. Watkins Glen is such a special track, super fast and with long, flowing corners. I haven’t run here since a K&N East race in 2009 on the “short course,” so a high-horsepower GT car should be a great contrast and an excellent training ground should I look to run anymore events at the circuit later on in the year.”
Driving the No. 14 Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo, World Stage and Wong will once again reunite with O’Gara Motorsports to service the effort. Competing in the Pro-Am category, the multi-time ALMS podium finisher will campaign solo in the event with an aim at adding to his podium tally.
With several events to be announced for the driver over the summer, this weekend’s gathering sets the stage for a schedule that should see him in a variety of machinery throughout North America, furthering World Stage Racing’s commitment to understanding the digital landscape of today’s motorsport scene, and with an aim at retargeting this towards a “New America” derived of millennials.
Practice begins this Thursday, June 25, with Race One taking place at 5:25PM ET on Friday. Race Two will take place one day later at 5:35PM ET.
