LOS ANGELES, CA (April 17, 2013)- After announcing that the partnership between Brian Wong and World Stage Racing would continue on in to this weekend’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, both Wong and World Stage are proud to reveal that Brian will once again return with the famed Flying Lizard Motorsports organization.
“It’s great to be back with such a great team,” stated Wong. “Flying Lizard is one of the most historic Porsche racing teams you can ever associate with, and racing together at Sebring demonstrated just what kind of potential exists.”
Following the team’s second place finish at the historic Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, Wong will return to the team, albeit in a different car and with a different co-driver. For Long Beach, Wong will be in the no. 44 Flying Lizard Motorsport Porsche GT3 Cup, featuring co-driver Dion von Moltke.
For his part, von Moltke has had a remarkable 2013 season, opening his year with a victory at Rolex 24 at Daytona, and following it up with a victory at Sebring.
“Dion’s having a great season so far, hopefully we can capitalize on his momentum” continued Wong. “It should be a very interesting combination between us, as we’re both younger guys pushing very hard to make our careers, and I think that will benefit us both.”
With Wong racing in his native Southern California, a significant focus of media attention will be paid to his Chinese-American roots by local media. Practice for the 37th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach begins this Friday, April 19, with the race taking place one day later on Saturday, April 20. The race will be televised on Sunday, April 21st, at 1PM ET.
